Before that, he practiced in the small town of Beavercreek, Ohio after completing his residency in Internal Medicine as Chief Resident. His goal has always been to become familiar with his patient’s unique situation and tailor treatment personally. This level of care cannot be adequately provided in the typical 5 minute office visit.

" When I was 13, I saw my first Internal Medicine Physician. I was greeted by the nurse, had vitals taken and was placed in an exam room. The physician then entered and examined me in detail. When he left, I dressed and was taken to his office where we sat facing across his desk.
I still remember, he was smoking a cigarette while he reviewed my exam and health history. I had ample time to ask questions, which were few as I was young. He then proceeded to provide answers to questions I hadn’t thought to ask. “Let’s see, you are 13 so you must have questions about…” He told me what I need to do to maintain my health. The whole process may have taken an hour.
Fast forward to today’s visits which are “efficient” and can last 5-10 minutes while the physician pecks on the computer, pretending to listen to you. There is no time to build a relationship or mutual trust. As a profession, we physicians need to do better."
